After an initial screening, I moved into a Codesignal round and the whole process felt pretty quick. I remember the recruitment team being responsive, and it didn’t take long from that first screen through the Codesignal stage. I’d felt like the experience was smooth overall, but I never got to a later stage and eventually heard back with a rejection.
In my second attempt, the recruiter reached out and asked general questions along with market knowledge and technical prompts. She told me there would be four more rounds, but I didn’t make it to the next one. She mentioned an update in a couple of days, and when it didn’t happen I followed up after a week, then again about two weeks later, and that’s when I received the rejection. The wait was the hardest part, more than the interview content.

Average Positive Canada
I went through a pretty classic HubSpot SWE flow that started with an online assessment. For me, it was a CodeSignal-style test, and I also saw that there was an option to skip an OA if there was a recent prior score from another company—either way, the early technical gate was clearly the first filter. After that, I had a short recruiter chat and then a longer technical sequence.
My technical portion ended up being split into coding and systems design: one hour in a LeetCode-ish style format and one hour on systems design. In my process, once I passed the initial recruiter stage, there was also a later technical deep dive that leaned on a project I’d worked on in the prior couple of years, which helped it feel less generic. After the deep dive, I had a final behavioral round.
