Fundbox Interview Guide
Everything we know about interviewing at Fundbox: the process stage by stage and what each round tests.
Interviewing at Fundbox
What the process looks like, and what Fundbox is really testing for.
At Fundbox, the interview content you should expect is unusually concentrated in a few areas. Across the roles we have guides for, the most prominent topics include UX/UI product design, React, sales role fundamentals, marketing analytics, general machine learning, portfolio review and case study storytelling, data analysis, algorithms, and predictive modeling, with system design and collaboration also showing up prominently.
What they test is not only your technical ability, it is your ability to frame problems, communicate tradeoffs, and work with others while doing the technical work. The topics distribution repeatedly points to data analysis and predictive modeling, algorithms and data structures, system design, and problem framing, with collaboration and stakeholder influence also ranking high. For roles where a portfolio exists, portfolio review and case study storytelling is prominent, including a marketing analytics portfolio discussion.
In terms of process, the data shows a sequence that can include HR and screening calls, then conversations with hiring managers, and potentially a home assignment and an onsite loop with collaborative working sessions. Candidate reports show a difficulty distribution weighted heavily toward medium, with very hard at 0.0%, and an offer rate of 0.0% in the reports we have, so the reports do not support conclusions about likelihood of offer.
Portfolio and case study communication is not a side topic here, it shows up as one of the most prominent areas, and there is even a dedicated portfolio discussion for marketing analytics roles. Expect to explain your work clearly, including your modeling and analysis choices.
The Fundbox interview process
5 stages, based on 70 candidate reports.
HR screen and initial screening
UnknownYou may start with an HR screen that covers background, compensation, and role alignment. You can also expect an initial screening or initial screening call focused on your experience and career motivations, plus a high level alignment conversation.
Behavioral assessments and hiring manager conversations
UnknownThe process may include behavioral assessments and in depth behavioral interviews to evaluate cultural fit and past experiences, plus conversations with a hiring manager. Some reported steps include deeper discussions with hiring managers and cross functional team members, and for sales roles this includes discussion of sales methodology and strategic alignment.
Portfolio, design team, and other role specific deep dives
UnknownDepending on the role, you might have a portfolio discussion, such as a review and discussion of past portfolio work related to marketing analytics. For UX/UI related paths, there can also be a design team dive exploring past work with the design team.
Home assignment (if included)
UnknownSome reported interviews include a home assignment described as comprehensive and requiring significant time for exploratory data analysis and model training. If you are given this step, plan to deliver both the EDA and your modeling approach, and be ready to explain it.
Onsite interview loop with collaborative sessions
UnknownThere can be an onsite interview loop that includes collaborative working sessions with potential teammates. Based on the prominence of topics like system design, collaboration and stakeholder influence, and role specific technical areas, expect interactive exercises and discussions rather than only one off questions.
