My process for the Software Engineer role was five rounds total, and the whole thing felt quite difficult from start to finish. The first round was a machine coding task where I had about two to two and a half hours to code based on a problem statement. After I finished that, I moved into a machine coding evaluation round.
Then came a classic progression: an explicit DSA round, a system design round, and finally a managerial round. By the time I reached the later stages, the load felt heavy because each round demanded a different kind of depth.

Average Positive Raurkela
My interview journey started with a friendly recruiter-style technical conversation where the interviewer kept nudging me toward a solution as the discussion went on. The question I worked through revolved around graphs—Dijkstra’s algorithm alongside BFS.
After that, I was scheduled for another round that leaned more into DSA and was described as connected to my earlier performance and my projects. I didn’t make it to that round, but I remember the kinds of topics that were mentioned—things like house robber and sliding window-style problems.

Machine Coding Expectations
Candidates will face a machine coding round that emphasizes writing complete, working code under time constraints, often involving real-world scenarios like system implementations. The focus is on both correctness and the ability to handle edge cases.

DSA & Problem-Solving Focus
Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) rounds are integral to the process, with questions covering a range of topics including graphs, dynamic programming, and common algorithmic patterns. Candidates should prepare for medium to hard-level problems.

Design Discussions
System design interviews may involve both low-level and high-level design questions, requiring candidates to articulate their thought process and design choices clearly. Familiarity with design principles and practical applications is crucial.

Hiring Manager Interaction
The hiring manager round often shifts the tone from technical to more conversational, focusing on the candidate's experiences and fit within the team. This round can be pivotal, and candidates should be prepared to discuss their projects and approaches in detail.
