Interviewing at Flex
What the process looks like, and what Flex is really testing for.
Flex interviews are structured but not identical across candidates. Across roles you can see an initial screening, manager interviews, and some mix of technical assessment and technical or deep-dive discussions. Candidate reports consistently describe professional, organized scheduling and an experience that feels mapped to the objectives of each round, even when outcomes are negative.
What the loop tests is very role-dependent, but the topic coverage is consistent: procurement and supply chain topics are prominent, Excel appears as a major technical test, and accounting fundamentals also show up. Communication and interview communication skills, plus project management, are also central, and QA and aptitude testing are prominent, indicating you should expect evaluation of analytical thinking and quality mindset rather than only memorized facts.
Timeline signals from candidate reports point to relatively short loops in some cases, but also show delays and inconsistent post-interview communication for others. Reported difficulty is mostly medium, with easy and hard cases also present, and the overall offer rate across reports is very low, 0.4%, so you should treat every stage as high impact and prepare for the practical tests, especially Excel and any assessment or automated testing.
Excel is called out as a top technical topic, and at least one technical assessment is explicitly described as including a Microsoft Excel test plus an English language evaluation, so your preparation should include Excel fluency, not just general knowledge.
The Flex interview process
5 stages, based on 517 candidate reports.
Initial Screening
Short (reported as email or brief phone call)You start with an initial screening via email or a brief phone call. Reports describe this as verifying your background and role fit, including language skills and basic qualifications.
Manager Interviews
Varies by role (multiple interviews possible)Hiring managers conduct interviews to assess your fit for the role and discuss your experience. Depending on the role and the candidate reports, this can involve an engineering manager or director focused on situational judgment and team fit.
Technical Assessment
Short assessment windowYou may complete a technical assessment or case study, which can include an English language evaluation and a Microsoft Excel test. Other reports describe exam-style or written test components, plus additional evaluation steps.
Technical Interviews and Automated/Group Assessment
Multiple rounds possibleYou may have technical interviews that cover programming basics, system design, and coding exercises for relevant roles, and you can also see deep-dive technical discussions. Separately, there can be group assessment elements, including logic tests and collaborative problem solving, and automated testing to evaluate technical competency and analytical skills.
Group Discussion and Cross-Functional/Final Evaluation
Final sequence after earlier roundsSome candidates complete group discussion assessment to evaluate communication and collaboration skills. There can also be cross-functional interviews to assess collaboration and cultural fit, plus an HR and leadership final round or a final decision based on all evaluations.
