My process was genuinely hard and stretched across multiple stages, and live coding was central to it. I completed the first live coding task and all the tests passed, which made me feel like I was on track. Even so, I didn’t go through to the next round.
What surprised me most was how quickly that success didn’t translate into progress—passing everything didn’t guarantee momentum. Still, I walked away feeling like I’d learned a lot from the experience, and it pushed me to put more time into practice using HackerRank-style preparation before future efforts.

Average Negative United States
The process started like it was going to be a straightforward multi-step journey: a recruiter call, then a very thorough hiring manager interview packed with technical questions. After that, I was moved into a project stage that was different from pure coding interviews. I had to create a presentation that addressed specific questions across multiple related datasets, with the expectation it would be shown to a panel that would then ask questions.
The deadline was tight—returning the project within 48 hours—and I was asked to produce something panel-ready on a compressed timeline. I submitted it, and the very next day I received an email from the recruiter saying they wouldn’t move forward with the actual interview. Their feedback was that most of my answers were wrong, which honestly didn’t match how much time I spent QA’ing it.
