I started with a recruiter phone call where we covered my background and projects, then they sent me an online assessment to complete. The OA was focused on LeetCode-style coding, and I remember it being medium to hard. After that, I had a technical screening with two more LeetCode questions—one of them was greedy, and another was the kind of caching problem often framed around an LRU cache. The rest of the discussion was tied directly to the role, so it didn’t feel purely algorithmic.
Overall it felt like a fairly standard sequence: recruiter → OA → technical screen, with the technical part being the real gate. It was challenging enough that I didn’t get through, and the feedback implied I wasn’t meeting the bar at that point. What stood out most was how much they leaned on solving coding problems rather than anything vague—there wasn’t much room to “sell” my way through.

Easy Negative United States
I had a process where the early steps were smooth, but the technical trajectory varied. A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and the communication was quick and responsive, and the process felt almost partially automated at points. I remember getting through a recruiter call and then into live interviews where the coding problems and project discussions carried the weight.
In one technical interview, I was asked a problem that felt oddly approachable but still specific—finding K nearest restaurants based on coordinates. It didn’t feel like pure theory, but it caught me off guard because I’d recently seen a mock that mirrored the same idea. In another coding and project-sharing style round, the questions were about things like leadership and explaining ownership of work, along with DSA-level topics such as graph-related problems. Even when I felt like I did well across those areas, I still got rejected.
