After I applied through a recruiter, the process moved pretty quickly over about three weeks. I started with a recruiter screen, then a call with the hiring director, and then I went into the multi-round interview loop. Round one felt manageable overall; I got good feedback and the questions were pretty standard consumer-facing product manager prompts.
Round two was where things got noticeably harder. I went through more panel-style interviews and one of the sessions around interview 6 felt rough compared to the rest. There was also a PRD writing exercise where I spent about 90 minutes producing a document, but it didn’t seem like anyone reviewed it closely. By that point, I was trying to align my answers with what they wanted, and I kept feeling like my background leaned internal-facing rather than consumer-facing—the expectation mismatch was the big theme for me.

Average Positive San Francisco, CA
My interview process felt fairly standard and well-scoped, starting with a recruiter screen and a hiring manager conversation before I hit two loops. The first loop had a case-style product interview plus a brainstorming component, and it also included a discussion centered on handling ambiguous requests.
The second loop went deeper and leaned into technical product work I’d done before. I walked through a technical product deep dive, then there was a product case study. After that, there was a written PRD exercise tied to the case study, followed by a data evaluation segment.
