I started with a recruiter call where it felt fairly standard: they talked through my background, my notice period, and what I’d need to be ready for if I relocated. About a week later I moved into a technical round with two Android engineers from the Amsterdam team, and that part was genuinely the highlight of the process. We went deep into how I think about app architecture, covering MVVM and MVI, and they asked about modern Android practices like Jetpack Compose, Kotlin, coroutines, and Flow. There was also some discussion that leaned toward system design and scalability, and I left feeling like it had gone well because the engineers were respectful and easy to talk with.
Then things stalled. After that technical discussion, the process stopped and I didn’t receive any feedback or follow-up for more than three weeks. I sent polite check-ins by email, but the recruitment team never responded. I understood decisions take time, yet the silence after a multi-stage run-through felt unprofessional and disappointing. I still respected the technical culture there and would have been happy to keep going—or even reapply—if the communication had been handled better.

Average Negative India
My process began with a recruiter screening, and it quickly turned into two technical rounds. The overall difficulty was listed as average, but the feel of the interview was different for me: the technical session dragged on for about an hour, and it felt like the interviewer was mainly trying to hunt for at least one mistake. As someone who has interviewed before, I couldn’t shake the impression that they spent far longer than necessary to reach a basic judgment.

Recruiter Screening
The interview process typically begins with a recruiter call that covers the candidate's background, motivations, and logistical details like relocation. This initial step is generally straightforward and sets the stage for the subsequent technical rounds.

Technical Rounds
Candidates can expect multiple technical interviews that focus on Android development, including discussions on app architecture, modern practices, and coding challenges. The depth and difficulty of these rounds can vary, with some candidates feeling the interviews were adversarial or overly focused on finding faults.
Many candidates complete a technical assignment before the interview rounds, which can take several hours to complete and is often closely tied to the technical discussions that follow. This assignment is designed to assess practical skills and is a significant part of the evaluation process.
The interview process often includes a culture-fit discussion, typically with a manager or team lead, to assess alignment between the candidate's values and the company's culture. This stage is generally perceived as supportive and informative.
