I started with a 1:1 conversation with the team lead. We covered the basics and talked through the role, including that it was contracted, mostly to make sure I understood the terms.
That moved quickly into a larger group interview immediately after. Most of the questions felt fair, but one higher-up kept circling into scientific questions that didn’t seem connected to the software engineer role. He also made comments about my experience that felt like he hadn’t read my resume carefully. The overall vibe was difficult and I left feeling like the panel wasn’t aligned with the job I was there for.

Average Neutral Lisbon, Lisbon District
My process depended a lot on the initial recruiter. I ended up speaking with two different people: one was attentive and clear about what was happening and what the role looked for, while the other felt distant and didn’t seem very informed about the position. The interview journey itself felt somewhat long and even a bit redundant.
By the time I got through it, I was mainly left with the impression that how smoothly things went had less to do with my answers and more to do with who was handling the communication. There was no offer at the end, and the uneven recruiter experience colored how I felt about the whole hiring process.
