Meta's Strategic Sourcing team is scaling hiring for technical and leadership roles across Reality Labs, Infrastructure, and AI. Over the last two quarters, leadership has seen inconsistent sourced-hire output even though recruiter activity in Meta's internal recruiting systems has increased.
In the most recent quarter, sourcers added 4,800 prospects into the pipeline, up 20% quarter over quarter. However, only 290 sourced candidates reached onsite, down from 340 last quarter, and sourced hires fell from 78 to 61. Median time from first outreach to recruiter screen increased from 9 days to 14 days. Response rates also varied sharply by function: AI Research prospects responded at 18%, Infrastructure at 27%, and Product Leadership at 11%.
The Head of Recruiting Operations asks you: What three metrics would you track to monitor the health of Meta's strategic sourcing pipeline, and how would you define them so the team can diagnose whether issues come from top-of-funnel volume, candidate engagement, or downstream conversion?
