Motive is a fleet management and operations platform serving trucking, logistics, and field-service businesses through products like Motive Fleet Dashboard, Motive Driver App, AI Dashcam, and telematics. The company is expanding deeper into workflow software, where speed to market matters but trust and reliability are critical for safety-sensitive customers.
Motive is considering launching a new Driver-to-Dispatcher Messaging feature inside the Motive Driver App and Motive Fleet Dashboard. Today, many fleets coordinate through phone calls, SMS, and WhatsApp, which creates poor visibility, missed updates, and limited auditability. Customer interviews suggest strong demand for in-platform messaging, but the initial feature request list has grown quickly.
Requested capabilities include: 1:1 messaging, group threads, photo attachments, read receipts, message templates, offline sync, translation, voice notes, location sharing, safety/compliance logging, and integrations with load workflows. Engineering estimates that shipping everything would take 5-6 months, while leadership wants an MVP in 8 weeks to validate demand with mid-market fleets.
