Meta is exploring utility features inside Meta Maps, a location layer that could appear across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Meta AI experiences. Meta has large-scale consumer reach, strong local discovery surfaces, and rich real-time signals from businesses and communities, but it is not yet the default destination for driving-specific tasks.
Drivers often know where they want to go but not where to leave the car. In dense urban areas, parking uncertainty adds time, stress, and route abandonment. Internal research suggests that among users who navigate to restaurants, events, and shopping districts, a meaningful share open a second app or search separately for parking after selecting a destination. This creates friction and weakens Meta Maps' usefulness for high-intent local trips.
You are the PM for Meta Maps. Design a parking slot feature that helps users find parking near their destination. Assume the first launch market is 3 large US cities with mixed street parking, garages, and event-driven demand. You do not need to design autonomous parking or hardware integrations.
